GAIA GROWING GOALS

Hello to one and all

I hold the perception that the world we inhabit is one living entity and that we are all part of that entity just as much as each cell in our bodies is part of us. Like an ever growing number of people I refer to that "one" entity as Gaia. (For those who are new to the concept, Gaia is the ancient Greek name for the Earth as a living entity)

Just as the winds and waters of the earth can be percieved as Gaia's respiratory and circulatory systems so all living bodies on the earth can be considered to be its muscles, flesh and organs. If we can accept this analogy then the next logical step is to recognize that all thinking beings on the Earth combined are the mind of Gaia. The final step in extending this analogy is to recognize that our growing awareness of Gaia as a living entity is in fact Gaia's growing awareness of herself as one.

Thinking of Gaia as a living entity in and of herself is not a religious perception for me. I don't worship Gaia anymore than I would worship a baby that is just becoming aware of itself as a "self" and, on her own vast scale of life, Gaia is still a baby.

I am, however, in awe of the wonderous reality of the process of becoming aware, and continually more aware, in any entity whether is it in a baby creature or in a baby Gaia. Seeing that it is happening I treasure it and want to assist it.

This "Gaia Growing" section of my "crucible.ca" site is a contribution to our "dawning light of awareness" that we are all part of the mind of Gaia. That as we think, she thinks. That together, in the growing light of that understanding,  we will choose to cooperate in creating harmony among ourselves on this beautiful planet so that Gaia can grow into a healthy and mature adult that we will all be truely proud of having helped to raise.

My goals for these web pages are to:

  1. Introduce the twin ideas that Gaia is a very young evolving entity and that we are all her co-parents.
  2. Encourage us all to take parental responsibility for nourishing her healthy growth toward her own maturity..
  3. Make connections with my other co-parents to see what evolves out of our interactions with each other.
  4. Pass on ideas, suggested actions and connections that can help us all be good parents for Gaia.

May you live in harmony, joy and appreciation.
